Terms
Plain language. Please read.
UNSAID exists for clarity, not cruelty. By using it, you agree to these terms.
What UNSAID is for
UNSAID is a tool for personal clarity — telling someone the truth you couldn’t say out loud. Rejection. Disclosure. Boundaries. Endings. It is not a tool for harassment, threats, coercion, revenge, or contact with anyone who has asked you to stop.
You are responsible for what you send. If a recipient has blocked you, obtained a protective order, or otherwise asked for no contact, UNSAID is not a workaround — do not use it.
Your privacy
Your real phone number is never shown to the recipient. Messages are delivered from a UNSAID number so the reply, if any, comes back through us — not to your personal line.
We store recipient phone numbers only to route the message and any reply. We do not sell your data. We do not build a profile of who you contact.
Replies and storage
If replies are allowed for what you purchased and one comes in, it appears in your inbox.
- Unread replies expire 14 days after they arrive.
- Once you reveal a reply, it expires 7 days later.
- After expiration, replies are permanently deleted. There is no archive and no way to recover them.
One & Done sends do not receive replies. Clean Cut sends accept replies during the 72-hour window only.
Fair use
Off Record is for personal use. It includes unlimited messages for typical personal use; we reserve the right to pause access for patterns that look like automation, mass messaging, or misuse.
Shield is included free with Clean Cut and Off Record, and available on its own for $4.44 / month. It covers the automatic "not interested" replies your Shield number sends back to anyone who texts it. Personal use is unlimited; we reserve the right to pause access for patterns that look like automation, mass messaging, or misuse.
Shield numbers are strictly for receiving. They only auto-reply — they can't be used to send UNSAID messages, Clean Cut threads, or Off Record texts. The one exception: if you accidentally gave out your real number, you can trigger a single cleanup send from your Shield to that person, signed with the last 4 digits of your real number so they recognize the context.
We reserve the right to pause or cancel access for patterns that look like automation, mass messaging, or misuse.
Payments
Purchases and subscriptions are processed through our payment provider. Off Record renews monthly until you cancel; canceling keeps unlimited sends active until the end of the current billing period.
To manage, cancel, or update your subscription, visit the Pricing page while signed in.
Refund policy
All payments are final. Because UNSAID delivers a message the moment you send it — and because even an unused credit unlocks the private compose flow — we do not offer refunds, partial refunds, credits, or chargebacks on any purchase, including One & Done, Three-Pack, Clean Cut, Off Record subscriptions, or top-ups.
If a payment fails, the dashboard will explain what to fix (expired card, declined charge, etc.). Update your payment method and try again — no support ticket needed.
By completing checkout, you agree that you have reviewed your order and waive any right to a refund. Fraudulent chargebacks will result in permanent loss of access.
No harm
You agree not to use UNSAID to threaten, harass, defame, coerce, or endanger anyone, or to send anything illegal. Violating this ends your access without refund.
Eligibility
UNSAID is for people 18 or older. By using it, you confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and that you have the right to contact the recipient.
Not for emergencies
UNSAID is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, being threatened, or in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line directly. Do not rely on UNSAID to reach anyone urgently — delivery is best-effort and may be delayed or fail.
Not medical or legal advice
Any content, prompts, or suggested wording — including messages about STI/STD exposure or pregnancy — is provided as a communication tool only. UNSAID does not provide medical, legal, mental-health, or professional advice. For medical questions, speak to a clinician. For legal questions, speak to a lawyer.
Delivery and carrier logs
We do not store the content of outbound messages after they are sent. However, our telecom provider and mobile carriers keep their own logs and metadata (sender number, recipient number, timestamps, delivery status) for their own retention windows and legal-compliance purposes. We may access those logs to investigate abuse or comply with lawful requests.
Recipients can screenshot, forward, or share any message they receive. UNSAID cannot prevent that.
Consent to contact
You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to message the recipient. Some jurisdictions require consent for certain kinds of contact. Do not use UNSAID to send commercial or automated messages — it is for personal communication only.
Before sending, users must confirm they have a legitimate personal reason to contact the recipient and understand UNSAID may deliver the one-time message by text.
Changes
We may update these terms as UNSAID evolves. Material changes will be reflected here. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
