How we handle your information.
This page is maintained by UNSAID to explain our privacy practices. It covers what we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
We collect only what is needed to send and route messages:
- Account information: email address and authentication details from your sign-in provider.
- Recipient phone number: used to deliver your message and route any reply.
- Message content: the text you compose and choose to send.
- Usage data: basic event logs such as send attempts, delivery status, and errors, to keep the service working and to investigate abuse.
How we use your information
We use your information to deliver messages, route replies, process payments, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not use your contact list or message content for marketing.
Phone numbers and messaging
Your real phone number is never shown to the recipient. Messages are sent from a temporary UNSAID number so replies come back through us, not to your personal line.
We share recipient phone numbers and message content with our telecom provider only as needed to deliver the message. Mobile carriers may keep their own logs for their own compliance and operational purposes.
Replies and storage
Replies are stored only long enough for you to read them:
- Unread replies expire 14 days after arrival.
- Revealed replies expire 7 days after you open them.
- After expiration, replies are permanently deleted. We do not keep an archive and cannot recover deleted messages.
Who we share data with
We share limited data with service providers who help run UNSAID: authentication, payment processing, messaging delivery, hosting, and abuse monitoring. Each provider is contractually required to use data only for the services they provide to us.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to respond to a valid legal process.
Cookies and analytics
UNSAID uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to process payments. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We may use privacy-focused analytics to understand how the site is used, but we do not track you across other websites.
Your choices and rights
You can review and delete your account and associated data from your account settings. You can also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We will respond to reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
Children's privacy
UNSAID is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as UNSAID evolves. Material changes will be posted here. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
